The IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation) European Championship, is one of the largest jiu-jitsu events of the season. Held at the Institute of Judo in Paris, this championship brought together some of the best talents from all over the world.
Our team at EDJ HQ, flew all the way from Corona, CA, to Paris, France. The atmosphere in Paris was amazing.
We want to congratulate all of those who went out and competed from EDJ HQ. However, the journey was not without its hurdles. Professor Kim Bowser, a 6-time European Champion, unfortunately fell ill during the trip, and Coach Amanda Bennett had to return home early due to a family emergency.
We start the week with a BANG with our very own Ava Groves, winning gold in the blue belt M1 middleweight division. Ava’s journey to this point has been nothing short of inspirational, marked by relentless training and a deep-seated love for the sport. Her victory is a testament to her hard work and dedication.
We wrapped up the championship with another outstanding performance by Coach Bryan Caceres, who won the M1 Purple Belt medium heavyweight division. Bryan’s journey in Jiu Jitsu has been a remarkable one, characterized by perseverance and an unwavering quest for excellence.
To Ava, Bryan, and all our athletes, your hard work, humility, and eagerness to learn have not gone unnoticed. We are incredibly proud and look forward to supporting you in all your future challenges.
We return home not just with medals, but with enriched experiences, new friendships, and an even greater passion for the sport we love.
