In this month’s blog, we had a chat with Bryan Caceres, a talented Jiu-Jitsu fighter from EDJ School of Jiu Jitsu HQ in Corona. Recently, he took home the win at the IBJJF European Championship and is getting ready for a new challenge this weekend at ARTE SUAVE in Anaheim. Join us as we talk to Bryan about his journey and what keeps her motivated in the world of Jiu Jitsu.
How would you describe the experience of competing in another country?
Competing in another country is an amazing experience. Anything that pushes you out of your comfort zone is always going to propel you to be a better version of yourself.
How often do you think Jiu-Jitsu matches boils down to the will to win?
I don’t think it boils down to the will to win, but instead, the will to train and prepare as best as possible.
What are your goals within the Jiu-Jitsu world?
My goals are to fight for the people I love. I want to be the best jiu-jitsu practitioner, but above all I want to be an exemplary father and coach.
What is your advice to someone who wants to start competing?
My advice for someone considering competing is to step out of their comfort zone. Realize that failure is the baseline for anything, the only thing we get from competition is improvement both mentally and physically. If you’re really serious about competing you must also really trust your Professor and be willing to put in the work.
Thank you Bryan for sharing with us and for your dedication and commitment to the team!
