What an incredible weekend it was for our EDJ athletes, who put in outstanding performances at both the Jiu Jitsu World League (JJWL) and the Arte Suave event in San Diego! We are beyond proud of every single one of you who stepped on the mat and gave it your all. Here’s a recap of the weekend.
A special shoutout goes to Coach Bryan, who had a phenomenal day, winning not just one but two events in one day! He took home gold in the Gi Purple Heavyweight division at JJWL and followed that up with an impressive victory in his No-Gi Super Fight at the Arte Suave event. Bryan’s dedication, skill, and relentless pursuit of excellence are a true inspiration to everyone at EDJ. He showed us all what’s possible with discipline, hard work, and an unbreakable mindset. Congratulations, Coach Bryan!
Coach Joe put a great performance at the JJWL, getting gold with a beautiful bow and arrow choke in the final match. We’re incredibly proud of your success and the example you’re setting for the rest of the team.
We also want to congratulate Coach Ava on her well-deserved gold medal! We can’t wait to continue watching you grow and push yourself on the new belt. Keep challenging yourself!
A big congratulations to Coach Evelyn on the silver medal! Evelyn brought the fight and left it all on the mat, showing great determination and grit. Watching her compete with such heart was awesome, and we know there’s much more to come from her in the future. Great job, Evelyn!
Coach Amanda also earned a silver medal, stepping up to a new challenge by competing in the adult division and going up in weight class. With no competitors in her age and weight group, Amanda pushed herself by competing in a higher division and having an excellent performance. We are so proud of your willingness to take on new challenges. Keep up the great work, Amanda!
Mariel had an amazing comeback and earned a bronze medal! Incredible heart and determination. We are so proud of you, Mariel – Lets keep the hard work and perseverance!
A huge congratulations to Matthew and Andrew for an amazing debut at their first BJJ tournament! Both secured medals, with Matthew taking bronze and Andrew earning silver. Their matches were intense, and it was clear they put in the hard work leading up to the event. We loved watching these two battle it out on the mats!
David also put on a great performance, earning silver and showing incredible potential. The gold is coming, David – keep working hard, and it will come soon!
